What is Cold Wallet (Hardware Wallet)?
A cold wallet is a crypto storage device that keeps your private keys offline, making it immune to online hacking. Ledger and Trezor are the most popular hardware wallets.
Full Explanation
A cold wallet (or hardware wallet) is a physical device that stores cryptocurrency private keys completely offline, disconnected from the internet. This makes it virtually immune to online attacks, malware, and phishing. Transactions are signed on the device itself and then broadcast to the network. Popular cold wallets: Ledger Nano S Plus (~₹5,000), Ledger Nano X (~₹12,000), Trezor Model One, Trezor Model T. Best practice: use cold wallets for long-term holdings, keep small trading amounts on exchanges.
Example
Store your Bitcoin and Ethereum long-term savings on a Ledger Nano. Only transfer to an exchange when you want to trade.
