Privacy policy

Fedha Academy (fedhaacademy.in and its Android app) is run by Fedhabit Virtual Private Limited, of Office 1203+1204 Colonade, B/h Iscon Temple, Ambli, Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380058, India. In the words of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.

This policy covers the website and the app, which share one account. It does not cover other websites we link to.

You can read lessons and articles and use most tools without an account. When you create one, or use the parts that need one, we collect the following.

• Your Google account details. You sign in with Google only. Google gives us your name, e-mail address and profile picture. We never see or store a password.
• Your mobile number. Every account gives one on the screen after Google sign-in, and one number can hold only one account. We use it to reach you about challenges you join and to stop one person running several accounts.
• Your WhatsApp choice. WhatsApp updates are off unless you tick the box. We record when you turned them on or off, and where you did it. You can change this on your profile page at any time.
• Your profile. A username and display name, and anything you add yourself: a bio, a picture, a link to your X account.
• Your learning. The lessons you open and finish, your quiz answers and results, and your certificates.
• Your practice. Paper-trading portfolios and orders, trading challenge entries and results, duel results and your rating, trade journal entries, and the strategy descriptions you type into the algo testing tool.
• Anti-cheat records for trading challenges. When you join a challenge or trade in one, we record your IP address, your browser type and a device fingerprint: a code your browser works out from its settings and your device (for example screen size and installed fonts). To read your IP address, your browser asks the service ipify.org.
• What you write for us. Articles you submit, with their images and tags; messages through the contact form; feedback, with any screenshots you attach.
• Your survey answers, if you answer them: your experience, the exchanges you use, your crypto budget, your main goal, and optionally an income range.
• Records from the retired rewards programme. If you redeemed points before the programme closed on 20 September 2026, the details you gave for that redemption (such as a name, phone number, postal address, e-mail or X handle).
• Usage data. Pages and tools you open, lessons and quizzes you complete, and technical data such as browser, device type, approximate location (country) and page speed. Section 9 explains this and how to switch it off.

• To run your account and save your progress, results and certificates.
• To run challenges and duels fairly: rankings, prizes, and catching one person entering with several accounts. A match between accounts can lead to a review and to disqualification, and we e-mail you if that happens.
• To review articles before they are published, and to show your author name and profile with the articles you publish.
• To contact you about challenges you join, and by WhatsApp only if you opted in.
• To send e-mails about your articles and, now and then, news about Fedha Academy. Every news e-mail has an unsubscribe link, and we honour it.
• To answer your messages and feedback.
• To understand how the site is used and make it better (section 9).
• To keep the service secure and to meet our legal duties.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to show you advertising.

When you submit an article, its text is sent to Google's Gemini AI service. It checks the text against our rules, suggests which topic it belongs to, drafts feedback for our editors and suggests search titles and questions. The strategy descriptions you type into the algo testing tool are sent to Gemini in the same way, to turn them into rules. A person on our team decides whether an article is published; the AI does not.

Do not put personal details, yours or anyone else's, in an article or a strategy description.

These companies process personal data for us, only to provide their service. Some of them work outside India.

• Supabase: our database, file storage and server functions. Your account data is stored in Japan (Tokyo).
• Vercel: hosts and delivers the website, through servers around the world. A US company.
• Google: Google sign-in, Google Analytics and the Gemini AI service (section 4). A US company; data may be processed in the United States and elsewhere.
• Resend: sends our e-mails. A US company.
• ipify.org: tells your browser its IP address when you join or trade in a challenge.
• Our own server in India: keeps our nightly backups of the database and runs some background services.

We also share data when the law requires it, for example with a court or a regulator, and to protect the rights and safety of our members or of Fedha Academy. Articles you publish are public, with your author name and profile.

• Your account and everything in it: while the account is open. When you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days (how to ask).
• Backups: a copy of the database is taken every night and kept for up to 8 weeks, then overwritten. Deleted data leaves the backups within 8 weeks.
• Usage data in our own analytics: raw events are deleted after 90 days and link clicks after 180 days. We keep only totals after that.
• Google Analytics: 14 months, then Google deletes it.
• Anti-cheat records: while your account is open. We delete the records linked to you when we delete your account, unless we must keep a specific record for fraud prevention or to meet a legal duty.
• Messages and feedback: until you ask us to delete them or delete your account. We keep the account-deletion request itself, without a link to the deleted account, for up to 12 months after completing the request so we have a record that we acted on it.
• Records the law makes us keep, such as prize payouts and past reward redemptions: for as long as the law requires.

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it, and who we have shared it with;
• correct, complete or update it;
• delete it, or delete your whole account (Delete your account);
• stop using it where we rely on your consent: switch off WhatsApp updates on your profile page, unsubscribe from e-mails, or switch off analytics (section 9);
• name someone who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself.

Write to us as section 12 describes. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Fedha Academy is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. India's data protection law treats anyone under 18 as a child, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child has created an account, we delete it. If you think a child has given us personal data, tell us as section 12 describes.

We use your browser's storage and a few cookies to:

• keep you signed in;
• remember your settings;
• measure how the site is used.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics and our own first-party analytics to understand which lessons, articles and tools people use. Events carry a random visitor id and, when you are signed in, our internal account id. They never carry your name, e-mail address or phone number. Income answers from the optional survey stay in our own database and are never sent to Google. You can switch analytics off for this browser at any time:

Data travels encrypted between your device and our services. Our database only lets each member read their own private data, and only the staff who need it can see more. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by e-mail or on the site before it takes effect.
