Account abstraction (ERC-4337 on Ethereum) turns wallets into programmable smart contracts. Benefits: pay gas fees in any token (not just ETH), batch multiple transactions, set spending limits, enable social recovery, allow session keys (approve a dApp once, not every transaction), and support biometric authentication. It removes the biggest friction in crypto onboarding. Projects implementing it: Safe, Biconomy, ZeroDev, Argent.
