Journey Summary: What This Story Is Really About

This is not a story of overnight success.
This is a story of mistakes paid for with real money, real stress, and real consequences.

I entered crypto in 2021 during peak euphoria, driven by hype, confidence without knowledge, and the belief that prices only go up. A correct decision early on gave me false confidence, which later pushed me into my biggest mistake—taking a personal loan at market top.

The 2022 bear market didn’t just crash prices, it crushed psychology. Losses stacked up, EMIs continued, narratives failed, and I was forced to step away—not by discipline, but by exhaustion. That phase taught me something brutal:
if market losses start affecting real life, you’re already wrong.

In 2023, I rebuilt slowly. I exited dead bags, rotated into new narratives, shifted to international exchanges, focused on security, and accepted that survival matters more than ego. Spot recovery was slow—but real.

    Then came futures. Twice.
And twice the market reminded me that leverage without structure is just delayed liquidation. The only reason the journey didn’t end there was one correct decision: never touching spot holdings.

    From there, the mindset changed.
No more guessing. No more YouTube shortcuts.
Only learning, structure, mentors, and context.

By 2024, during ETF and halving euphoria, I finally made the most important decision of my entire journey—not booking a big profit, but protecting capital. I exited at break-even when greed was loud, confusion was high, and most people were turning into exit liquidity.

Today, this journey stands at a different place:

    • Not profit-obsessed

    • Not prediction-driven

    • But process-focused, risk-aware, and disciplined

This is not the end of the story.
    This is the real beginning.

    • Phase 1 – Peak FOMO & Personal Loan Trap

    • Phase 2 – Bear Market Sanyaas & Portfolio Reset

    • Phase 3 – Learning Curve & Futures Reality Check

    • Phase 4 – ETF Trap & Capital Protection

Phase 1: Peak FOMO & the Personal Loan Trap

    (2021–2022)

Entry Through Pure Hype (May 2021)

My crypto journey began in May 2021, right when Bitcoin was on full steroids—trading between $50,000 and $63,000. Social media was screaming “financial freedom,” friends were acting like Warren Buffett after buying one altcoin, and every second guy had a “sure-shot tip.”
    Naturally, I jumped in.

Not because I understood market cycles.
Not because I had a plan.
I entered because everyone else was making money.

That was the first red flag—though I was too high on hopium to notice.

First Dump, Fake Confidence & Beginner’s Luck

Right after my entry, Bitcoin dumped hard—straight to $30,000.
Instead of panic-selling, I did something that accidentally worked: DCA.

    The market bounced back.
Bitcoin didn’t just recover—it went on to smash a new ATH at $69,000.

And that’s where the real damage started.

Because one correct decision made me believe I was smart, not lucky.

🚨 THE BIGGEST MISTAKE: PERSONAL LOAN AT THE TOP 🚨

    Let’s be blunt here.

At $69,000 BTC, I convinced myself that:

    • “This is just the beginning”

    • “$100,000 is guaranteed”

    • “If I don’t go big now, I’ll regret it forever”

    So, what did I do?

👉 I took a Personal Loan to DCA MORE… at the absolute top.

    This wasn’t investing.
    This wasn’t conviction.
This was peak FOMO mixed with financial illiteracy.

    Highlighted Mistake #1:
Using borrowed money in a hyper-volatile asset at cycle top = self-sabotage.

    2022: Reality Hits Without Mercy

The moment my loan money entered the market, crypto did what it does best—rug-pulled my confidence.

    2022 bear market kicked in.
    Bitcoin started bleeding.
    Alts got slaughtered.

    The Double Pressure:

    • Portfolio: Down 70–80%

    • Real Life: Monthly PL EMI knocking without mercy

    Charts were red.
    Bank messages were louder.

Crypto doesn’t care about your EMIs.

The Metaverse & Dino Coin Disaster

As if one mistake wasn’t enough, I doubled down on stupidity.

    During the same period:

    • I bought Metaverse hype coins like MANA & SAND near their tops

    • I also loaded “safe” old favourites like ADA & MATIC—again, near peaks

    What happened?

    Most of them:

    • Lost 80–90%

    • Never revisited their highs

    • Turned into long-term mental baggage

    Highlighted Mistake #2:
Buying narrative coins after the narrative is already mainstream = exit liquidity behaviour.

    Mental Breakdown & Forced Exit

This wasn’t just a portfolio crash.
    It was a psychological wipeout.

    • Portfolio sinking daily

    • Loan interest silently compounding

    • No capital left to “average”

    • No courage left to open charts

I disappeared from the market for 6–8 months.

    No trading.
    No investing.
Just watching from the sidelines like someone who touched fire and learned the temperature the hard way.

    Highlighted Mistake #3:
No risk management, no capital protection, no emotional buffer = inevitable burnout.

    Phase 1 Summary (Hard Truth)

Phase 1 wasn’t about learning crypto.
It was about learning what NOT to do:

    • Confusing bull market luck with skill

    • Taking debt for speculative assets

    • Buying tops, not opportunities

    • Ignoring cycles, liquidity, and psychology

If crypto was a teacher, Phase 1 was the slap that said:
“Sit down. You’re not ready yet.”
