What is Total Value Locked (TVL)?
कुल लॉक्ड वैल्यूTVL is the total amount of crypto deposited in a DeFi protocol. Higher TVL generally means more trust and liquidity, but it's not a guarantee of safety.
Full Explanation
Total Value Locked measures the dollar value of all assets deposited in a DeFi protocol's smart contracts. It's the most widely used metric to gauge a protocol's size and adoption. High TVL suggests deep liquidity and user trust. However, TVL can be inflated by recursive borrowing (looping) and doesn't account for smart contract risk. Check TVL on DeFiLlama.com.
Example
Aave has ~$10B TVL across multiple chains. A new DeFi protocol with $50K TVL carries much higher risk.
