An airdrop is when a blockchain project distributes free tokens to existing wallet holders or users who completed specific tasks. Types: retroactive airdrops (reward past users — e.g., Uniswap's $UNI airdrop), task-based (follow, retweet, join Discord), holder airdrops (own Token A, receive Token B).
